Shaheed Path, Lucknow: buying along the corridor
Last updated 2 November 2026
Shaheed Path, also called Amar Shaheed Path, is a bypass of about 23 km running from Transport Nagar on Kanpur Road to Chinhat on Ayodhya Road. It is a road, not a neighbourhood. Choosing a home here means deciding which stretch fits your commute, and how far off the road you want to live.
What does Shaheed Path connect?
Shaheed Path connects four of Lucknow’s main exit roads. It was built to carry traffic around the older city, with service lanes for local access, so you can move between southern and eastern Lucknow without going through the centre.
| Along the corridor | What it gives you |
|---|---|
| Kanpur Road, Transport Nagar | The Red Line metro at Transport Nagar, and the airport side of the city |
| Raebareli Road | A link by underpass towards the south of the city |
| Sultanpur Road | A link by underpass to Sultanpur Road, plus Medanta and Lulu Mall in Sushant Golf City |
| Gomti Nagar Extension | Ekana Stadium, Phoenix Palassio and access to Gomti Nagar |
| Ayodhya Road, Chinhat | The eastern end, for travel towards Ayodhya |
The practical lesson is that “on Shaheed Path” covers very different places. A home near Kanpur Road and a home near Chinhat are 23 km apart, and they suit different lives.
What does “off Shaheed Path” really mean in a listing?
It means that the project is reached from the corridor by another road, and that road matters as much as the corridor. The phrase does not tell you the distance or the road’s width.
- Measure the actual drive from the corridor to the gate, on a map and then in a car.
- Find out whether that road is wide enough for two cars and a delivery truck.
- Check which direction you can join the main road, since a median can add a long loop.
- Look for street lighting, drainage and footpaths on the last stretch.
A home set back from the corridor can be quieter. A home facing it has quick access but more noise and dust. Stand on the balcony side during peak hour if you can.
What changed around Shaheed Path in 2026?
The biggest change is the Lucknow to Kanpur Expressway, inaugurated on 13 July 2026, which begins near Shaheed Path in south Lucknow. It suffered rain damage within weeks and tolls were suspended, so check its present condition before counting on it for a commute.
The second item is only a plan. In July 2026 the Centre approved the preparation of a detailed project report for an elevated road of about 23 km on this corridor, between the airport and the Outer Ring Road. If it goes ahead, expect years of construction, and it may change the view and the noise for homes close to the road. Ask what is known before choosing a road-facing unit.
Who should shortlist this corridor?
It suits people whose lives run across south and east Lucknow, not those who go to the old city every day.
- Medical staff and families who want to be near Medanta on Amar Shaheed Path.
- People working along Sultanpur Road, including the HCL IT City campus, which is listed at Chak Ganjaria.
- Frequent flyers and Kanpur commuters, who should look closer to the Kanpur Road end.
- Families who use the malls and sports venues on this side of the city.
It suits you less if you work in Chowk or Aliganj, or if you want to rely on a metro. Only the Kanpur Road end is near a Red Line station. A home in the north of the city, such as on IIM Road, may give you a much shorter day.
Which project does Lalit list here?
Lalit lists one project filed under this corridor, Eldeco Hanging Gardens, a 3 BHK with sky garden from ₹1.65 Cr. Close by in the same direction is Gomti Nagar Extension. Look at the ₹1 to 2 Cr flats guide if you want to see this project alongside others at a similar budget, and see all current options on the projects page.
